We’re proud to share that NDUR was featured on NBC Boston for our work supporting the mental health of student-athletes. The segment highlights the significant impact of our recent partnership with Let’s Play Boston, a testament to the power of collaboration in addressing mental health. Together, we worked with Boston Public School boys’ basketball teams, including Boston English High School, to incorporate mental wellness into their training.
One of the teams had an incredible season, and players shared how prioritizing their mental health played a key role in their success. As part of the partnership, the teams met with NDUR cofounder and former NBA player Michael Carter-Williams, who offered powerful insights into the importance of mindset, resilience, and recovery.
A standout takeaway for many of the athletes was the transformative impact of learning how to use breathwork to stay calm and focused during high-pressure moments — a skill they carried with them throughout the season, inspiring them to perform at their best.
This feature serves as a potent reminder that mental health is integral to overall performance, and it highlights how young athletes, with the support of the community, are embracing new tools to show up fully — both on and off the court.
